This meaningful community-driven initiative was organized by RYS, headed by the National Coordinator, Pulinda Prabath, under the UPF/RYS Service Project framework. The program was successfully held on the 1st and 2nd of March at Nanperial School, Balangoda, fondly known as both the most beautiful and one of the most remote schools in Sri Lanka.
Bringing together over 25 passionate young volunteers along with generous donors, the project aimed to uplift and support this underserved educational community through dedicated service and thoughtful contributions.
Key Activities & Impact:
Facility Renovation (Day 1 – Sunday): Volunteers spent the first day repainting and refreshing the school buildings, transforming the environment into a brighter, more inspiring space for learning.
Student Welfare & Engagement (Day 2 – Monday):
The second day focused on the children’s happiness and well-being. The team organized fun-filled games, provided a delicious lunch, and distributed essential items—creating a day filled with joy, care, and meaningful connection.
Donations:
The team successfully distributed warm jackets suitable for the local climate, along with school stationery items and chocolate/sweet packs to every child, ensuring both their comfort.
