UPF Malaysia Brings Care, Digital Learning, and Eco-Education to Students at Pulau Carey High School
SELANGOR, Malaysia — On 2 September 2026, UPF Malaysia, in collaboration with Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Malaysia and Pulau Carey High School, organised the Circle of Light Community Support Program to assist local students and their families. Held at Pulau Carey High School in Selangor, the initiative brought together 30 participants, including students, school staff, volunteers, and supporting partners, to deliver essential aid, support digital education, and promote environmental awareness.
The program served as a practical expression of UPF’s mission to foster peace through community service, addressing both the immediate daily needs and the long-term educational growth of students.
Key Highlights and Contributions
Essential Grocery Support
To relieve financial burdens on local families, 22 students were provided with comprehensive grocery packages containing household staples.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Through WFWP Malaysia’s "Give Me a Chance" initiative, 8 students received refurbished laptops to support their coursework, self-study, and digital literacy skills.
Hands-On Eco-Education
The students took part in an interactive vegetable planting activity using recycled plastic bottles as planters. This practical session introduced young learners to sustainable living, recycling techniques, and environmental stewardship in an engaging, hands-on manner.
Impact and Participant Reflections
The assistance made a strong impact on the students. One student participant, Jamal (name changed for privacy), shared his experience:
"I was really happy to join this program. I enjoyed planting vegetables and learned how we can help the environment. The laptop will help me a lot with my schoolwork, and the groceries were a big help to my family. I am very thankful to WFWP for this program. It was a fun and meaningful experience for me, and it has encouraged me to study harder and become a better person."
Looking Forward
UPF Malaysia expressed deep appreciation to WFWP Malaysia, Pulau Carey High School, dedicated teachers, volunteers, and supporting partners for making the event a success. Moving forward, UPF Malaysia plans to expand its Circle of Light initiative to reach more underserved communities across the region.
